Soviet Bayonet Techniques, 1942

In a perusal of bayonet systems, one cannot miss the pervasive French influence.  The "Bayonet fencing" of the early 19th Century influenced British, American and Russian close combat.  The works of Sir Richard Burton and General George McClellan cite French systems as the inspiration for their respective works.  So, too, is this seen in the accompanying illustrations of a Soviet combat system.  These techniques are adaptations of the old French technique.  They were presented in a manual which the Soviets issued to partisans.

The Soviet partisan manual included the bayonet methods shown below, as well as techniques for using expedient weapons to defend against armed attack.

In all likelihood, this was the same bayonet system as used by regular Soviet forces.
