The British Army adopted the method developed by fencing master Henry Angelo. The system is based on fencing ,and its main technique is the "point", or thrust. The instruction shown here is a series of guard positions and thrusts. Angeklo's method had further appeal because it could easily be used by men in a tight formation. The high guard and point are intended for fighting mounted opponents. Low guard and point are ideal for fightign an enemy in a trench.
