The Nine Day Class
An Exercise in Attainment
Lesson 3 - Three Simple Laws
Much has been made lately of the Law of Attraction. It has been known for millennia. The Law basically implies that your world in a reflection of yourself. Your environs, acquaintances and activities are reflective of the real you. Is this some sort of Astral attraction? Perhaps, but you can see it in the physical world. People gravitate toward the circumstances most like themselves. How many times do we hear of people moving to a new town to get away from troubles, only to find themselves among the same kind of people, places and things as before? The key to changing circumstances is to changing oneself. Improve yourself and you improve your circumstances. You must become the person who would gravitate toward better circumstances.
The other Law is Cause and Effect. For every cause you set in motion, there is a consequential Effect. If you do the same old things, you get the same old results. If you start doing better things, your results improve. Likewise, if you do worse, you will eventually experience worse. This Law has some similarity to concepts such as Karma and Wyrd. Your input colors the quality of your life, and you will face their consequences for good or bad.
The Law of Change states that when a person improves his input, or Cause, many of the ill Effects of past wrong Causes will be negated. A strong, positive input can mitigate or minimize many unfortunate consequences of the Past.
The point is that we are only bound by our own willingness to do that which improves our lives. These Laws have been recognized for ages. They give us the confidence that if we act progressively, so we will eventually gain progressive results. That is all up to us. The Laws work whether we recognize them or not. What matters is how each of us works in his or her own life.
You can take hope that your efforts will not be in vain. It may take time and effort, but you can improve almost anything you want. The potential is there. It only waits for you to express it in yourself and your life.
Meditation: Just as the passing of planets and stars is like a mechanism, so are the Laws of Attraction, Cause & Effect, and Change. They are your assurance that you can improve your circumstances. These Laws work inexorably, all the time. Knowing this, it means you can use them to your advantage. Think of yourself as working with the Universe for your greater good. Imagine feeling at harmony with the Universe. See yourself as part of the All, and working with the All.
Thought for the Day: The immutable Laws are my assurance that my efforts count. I take comfort in knowing that my thoughts, words and actions make a difference.
Exercise: In the morning before leaving, set aside five minutes. Take a piece of paper. On one half, write five to ten things about your life and world that you like. On the other side, list five to ten things about your circumstances that you do not like. Take no more than five minutes. When done, fold it and put it away. Forget about it for the day.
In the evening, at a relaxed time, take out the list. Look over the things that you like and dislike. See how any of them are related, either by similarity or by being polar opposites. This will give you a few small clues about where changes need to be made. Note these changes. Write them down. Look at this new list daily, checking off each change as it is made.
